Let love take flight on your canvas. Inspired by Marc Chagall’s dreamlike, floating figures, this course invites you to explore the magic of whimsical, romantic imagery in your own paintings. Chagall’s work transforms ordinary scenes into fantastical worlds, where lovers soar through the sky and memories drift like clouds.

Over four weeks, you’ll learn how to bring this enchanting style to life: how to create figures that float weightlessly, convey deep emotion, and tell a personal story. Your paintings will feature Chagall-inspired figures and symbols, perhaps a couple dancing in the stars, a playful pet accompanying your scene, or elements from your own memories of love and connection. You’ll explore color, composition, and narrative, all while capturing the airy, lyrical quality that makes Chagall’s work so unforgettable.

This course is perfect for creating a personal gift, a Valentine’s painting, or simply an imaginative journey into love, memory, and the imagination. Using references, photographs (like a wedding photo!), and your own memories, you’ll weave a visual story that is uniquely yours.

The final week, just after Valentine’s Day, is dedicated to sharing. Students will present their paintings, explain the stories behind them, and, for those who gifted their work, share the reactions of their loved ones. This reflective session celebrates creativity and the joy of giving. Let your love and imagination come alive in your painting.
