Week 1:
- Care for your nibs
- Cleaning
- Every 5 - 10 minutes, you want to rinse your nib in water. Do not dip your nib past the shank (the part that goes into the nib holder) as water can sit there and cause the nib to rust, making it very difficult to take out of the holder.
- When you’re done for the day with drawing, wash your nibs with soap and water. Be sure to dry your nibs with a paper towel.
- Storage
- Either store your nibs in the nib holder with the nib facing up OR separate your nib from the holder and store them in a small container. Make sure the nibs are not facing down, as this can bend them
If you're using brand new nibs, you will want to wash them with soap and water, otherwise they may not release ink very well.
