Finish your painting by adding details and touch-ups. Send me photos of your piece when you're all done!
Paint your raindrops onto your flowers. Add as many as you'd like! Use the handout above for tips and reminders.
Finish painting the tonal differences in each area by week 3 (June 3rd). In week 3, we'll be adding raindrops to our paintings and the flower needs to be finished before we paint raindrops.
Finish your underpainting. Remember that the underpainting is a simplified version of your photo reference, and the goal is to get rid of white canvas where it isn't white in your photo reference. Ignore the nuance and details. Focus on the big picture. Paint what you see when you squint or blur your vision. Step back from your painting. Use the cow's gaze (hugging gaze). Take photos! Please send me a high-quality photo of your finished underpainting - this will help me be able to give specific feedback in next week's class.
When you're done with your painting session and if you have extra paint, the way you can save your wet paint is by putting it inside a Masterson's palette saver or by covering your mixtures with saran wrap. Mist your paints before you cover it.
If you're using a masterson's palette saver, make sure the lid is completely closed. If you're using saran wrap, make sure the saran wrap creates an airtight seal around each mixture.
