White cardstock - 20 sheets
Black cardstock - 20 sheets
Black tempera* paint
White tempera* paint
Canvas** 11x14” or any size
Black and white acrylic paint (optional: black and white latex house paints)
Willow charcoal of medium thickness - for sketching
Bad bristle brush for warm-up sketching on cardstock
Your favorite bristle brushes in various sizes/shapes for the main project
Cup for water
Palette (paper plate is OK)
Table easel or any slanted support surface

*Tempera paint must be of high quality, such as Blick Premium Tempera. If Tempera and Acrylic are not available to you, you can use black and white latex house paints found in any home-remodel store for the entire project, including the warm-up sketching on cardstock paper. And another option: you can use black and white acrylic paints for the entire project, including the warm-up sketching. In case of using acrylic paint for the warm-up sketching, you will need an additional small and shallow glass jar for diluting some black acrylic with water to the consistency of ink).

**Canvas can be replaced with Watercolor paper, if necessary.
